A GENSHIN IMPACT RAREPAIR ZINE

CONTRIBUTOR INFORMATION

Desktop viewer recommendation: Read document here

Contributor Application Requirements:

Please make sure that your works are ordered according to preference. This means that the works you would most like us to review are put first.

Portfolio links should be easily accessible. A Google Drive folder is preferred but not necessary. Carrds, Ao3’s and other websites can be used as long as they are organised.

The writing/art that you display in the application should align with the quality/style of work that you are planning to produce for the zine.

Works for the specific rarepairs you want to produce for is not necessary, however, all applications should include at least one example of Genshin work.

This is a PG-13 zine and the applications should respect that. We are not accepting NSFW samples and no NSFW examples will be reviewed if submitted. If your writing portfolio is an Ao3, you may have NSFW on your account as long as it is tagged correctly.

Application requirements:

FAQs

What is a Zine?
A Fan Zine is a collection of fanmade works such as fanart or fanfiction, compiled together into something like a magazine

Who will you feature?
We will feature merch artists, page artists and writers!

Is this Zine SFW or NSFW?
This is a PG13-SFW Zine, which means that NSFW content such as gore, graphic descriptions of violence as well as all sexual content will be prohibited from both the application process as well as the zine.

Is this Zine Digital/Physical and For Profit/For Charity/Free?
This will be both a physical and digital zine! It will be 50/50 for-profit for-charity!

What constitutes as a ‘Rarepair’?
Rarepair in this instance refers to any ship on (or not even on) ao3 with under 100 fics! Any ship under 100 fics at the time of application can be considered a rarepair and is therefore eligible to be included!

We will only be counting fics with the ship as the main pairing! An easy way to check if this ship is eligible is to go down to the 'search within results' filter of Ao3 and add "otp: true". This will give you the fics that only have the main pairing tagged!

Here is a tutorial on how to check if your rarepair is allowed

Are you looking for Mods?
Yes, we are looking for shipping/production as well as Merch Mods! More information about the moderators here

Are you looking for interns?
No, we will not be looking for mod interns!

How many contributors will there be?
We will have ~46 contributors, ~35 of them will be applicants and the rest consisting of guests and moderators. We will be accepting ~15 page artist applicants, ~15 writer applicants and ~5 merch artist applicants.

Will contributors be compensated?
Regardless of for profit/for charity physical/digital boundaries, all contributors will receive a copy of the zine. In the event that merch is made, we will aim to gift the contributors a full bundle!

What if not enough profit is made to guarentee all contributors a copy?
In the event that the sales don't break even, the mods have set aside funds to bridge the gap.

Are contributors allowed to partner up?
Yes! After contributor/ship lists are released, they may choose to partner with another contributor with the same ship as them.

How many ships will there be?
We are aiming to have as many ships as possible, meaning that all the contributors will select three rarepairs during the application process and will be assigned one of them. We hope that there will be no more than two works of a kind per each ship. For example, “Albedo/Scaramouche” can have a maximum of two writers and two artists.

Can you apply for multiple positions?
Yes, but you will only be selected for one position!

Kingshiou
Head/Writing/Social Media Mod

Hey! I'm Kingshiou and I'll be the Head Mod for this Zine. I'm currently running two other Genshin Impact Zines as well as moderating a shipweek. I'm a huge multishipper and since falling into the fandom I've completed 40+ fics for Genshin! I'm hyped to give some of these rarepairs more love and attention, as well as us multishippers more food!

Harusomi
Art/Layout Mod

Haru here! I’m an artist who does a lot of illustrations for a number of fandoms alongside some writing on the side. I’m a graduating art student who’s participated in 4 zines, 2 of which I’ve managed as a moderator. As the art and layout moderator, I’ll be working to ensure the zine looks the best as it can be.

Artemis
Writing/Beta Mod

I am a hobby writer who participated in 8 zines prior and managed 2 of them. Besides that I've written over 120+ works spanning 5 fandoms along with managing an engineering major. As the writer/beta reading moderator, I'll be tossing ideas to help you traverse this rarepair hell and fine-tuning them to make it the best it can be.

Milkteas
Finance Mod

'Ello! I'm milk, and I'll be working as the Finance Mod and resident spreadsheeter. At the moment, I split my time between moderating several fandom severs, the most active of which has over 700 members, and an upcoming shipweek; working as an accountant; grinding multiple gacha games; and occasionally writing fic. I've been lurking in fandom for quite a while now, but I only started writing semi-actively about two years ago out of desperation for more content. Since then, it's been rarepair hell for me, and I am on a mission to spread the rarepair agenda. In other words, I will not shut up about them, much to the misfortune of those in the same servers as me.
